At Network 263, we believe that empowering young people to actively participate in agriculture is a key driver for sustainable livelihoods and poverty alleviation. Through our Youth in Agriculture Programme, we encourage young people to see agriculture not merely as subsistence but as a profitable and innovative business opportunity. By promoting agribusiness and agritechnology, we aim to equip youths with modern farming skills, entrepreneurial knowledge, and access to resources that enable them to transform small portions of land into productive and income-generating ventures.
Our focus extends beyond farming — it is about building resilience and ending food dependency. We support young farmers to adopt climate-smart and sustainable agricultural practices that enhance food security while creating decent jobs. Network 263 emphasizes the importance of innovation and value addition across the agricultural value chain, helping youths to explore opportunities in processing, packaging, and marketing agricultural products for both local and international markets.
The Youth in Agriculture Department also plays a crucial role in tackling malnutrition and promoting nutrition among children and families, particularly in marginalized communities. By encouraging youth-led initiatives in nutrition-sensitive agriculture, we promote the production of diverse and nutritious food crops that improve community health. Through these efforts, Network 263 continues to champion youth participation in agriculture as a pathway to achieving food security, reducing poverty, and driving sustainable change across Zimbabwe.
